Peddler’s Fair Traffic Control- Saturday, August 10th
WHAT??!!! ALREADY?!!

It seems like just yesterday I was asking for volunteers to sign up for the Peddler’s Fair Traffic Control! Okay, no it doesn’t. But we want to get rolling on the sign-ups so we’re ahead of the game. I will have the sign-up board Sunday’s after services in the Parish Hall. You can also sign up on Google Docs at the URL below.
New to St. Paul’s and not sure what it’s about? It’s super easy!! I can tell you more about it after services or you can call me! We also provide a video training session! Doesn’t get any easier than that!!
So, all hands on deck!!

Docent Volunteers Needed

Would you like to volunteer for work during the Peddler’s Fair, but are hesitant due to standing or sitting in the summer heat on First Street? Why not volunteer as a docent and stay inside St. Paul’s? Extensive historical knowledge is not a requirement, only a general friendly attitude and a willingness to welcome people inside.
The most frequently asked questions by visitors are usually A) how old St. Paul’s is and B) who built it (short answers: A) 165 years and B) shipwrights located in Benicia, based on the architectural designs by Julian McAllister, a US Army engineer). Most questions after that are some variants on where restrooms are located, service times, what denomination St. Paul’s is, etc.
Questions and inquiries can be e-mailed to me at: [email protected]. More information will also be provided.

Relay for Life Walkers and Greeters Needed
8/3 – 8/4 – St Patrick’s/St Vincent’s High School track – 1500 Benicia Rd Vallejo.

The St Paul’s Holy Strollers will be participating in the Benicia Vallejo Napa American Canyon Relay for Life fundraising walk to support the American Cancer Society again this year. Opening ceremony and Survivor’s lap at 10 AM Saturday August 3rd; final ceremony and dove release Sunday morning August 4th. In between, we take turns walking so that at least one Holy Stroller is on the track for the entire 24 hours. You can walk a few minutes, or a few hours or you can sit in the shade at our tent/home base and greet cancer survivors with a small gift from the people of St Paul’s. Relay for Life is fun, moving, and hopeful as our community comes together to fight cancer. The money raised goes to support ACS services, research, and more.
St Paul’s will be creating fundraising luminarias at several upcoming coffee hours to honor our loved ones fighting cancer and remember those we have lost. The luminarias will be lit Saturday 8/3 during the walk and light the way for overnight walkers, a glowing recognition of the impact cancer has on our community.
Interested? Come to coffee hour and find out more, or email Laura Peabody-Park [email protected] (preferred) or 925.451.0569 cell.
There are two steps to participate as a walker/runner
- Sign up for a time slot to walk or greet survivors on the sheet in the Parish Hall.
- Register for the walk online at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/StPaulsBenicia24

Film Screening – The Philadelphia Eleven
July 13th, 2 – 4 pm, Trinity Cathedral
2620 Capitol Ave, Sacramento

Donations on a sliding scale of $5 – $10 are welcome – no one will be turned away for lack of funds
In an act of civil disobedience, a group of women and their supporters organize their ordination to become Episcopal priests in 1974. The Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia welcomes them, but change is no small task. The women are harassed, threatened and banned from stepping on church property. In this feature-length documentary film, we meet the women who succeed in building a movement that transforms an age-old institution, and challenges the very essence of patriarchy within Christendom.
Following the screening, there will be a reception in the Lexis Gallery, featuring an exhibit comprised of some 20 art pieces by seven women artists, all of whom attend Trinity Cathedral.
Air Conditioning in Need of Repair

The church A/C system is broken, we apologize for the inconvenience.
For those of you who are heat sensitive, please dress comfortably in anticipation of the summer heat. We appreciate your patience!
